ABOUT DISTRICT
Hansi, recently designated as Haryana’s 23rd district on 22 Dec 2025 by Haryana Government. Sh. Rahul Narwal(IAS) was appointed as the first Deputy Commissioner of the district. Prior to it, Hansi was a subdivision and a tehsil under Hisar. It is an ancient city dating back to the Tomar dynasty (c. 957 AD). Historically known as Asigarh and a “City of Swords,” it was a major strategic fort, later ruled by Chauhan, Sultanate, Mughal, Maratha, and British powers.
